I have been in the Martial Arts industry for more than 20 years, initially as a fighter, I then found coaching in 2002 while living in California USA.
I have spent most of my life pursuing activities which test the mental and physical limitations of professional athletes and non-athletes alike, teaching them skills empowering them to be 1% better every day.

Currently training Cris Cyborg – Pound for pound the best female fighter in the UFC, Strike Force and Bellator MMA, competing in the Women’s Featherweight division.

My contribution to South African MMA to date
I have had professional athletes competing to EFC Worldwide since its inception in November 2009. Fast forward to 2019, I have created 13 EFC Titleholders in every weight division excepting the Welterweight division.

These EFC titleholders are:
Norman “Chef” Wessels – Heavyweight & Light Heavy Champion
Garreth “Soliderboy” Mclellan – 2x Middle Weight Champion
Costa Ioannou – Lightweight Champion
Martin “The Punisher” Van Staden – Lightweight Champion
Don “Magic Man” Madge – Lightweight Champion
Boyd Allen – former Featherweight Champion
Igeu Kabasa – current Featherweight Champion
Demarte “The Wolf” Pena – Bantamweight and Featherweight Champion
JP Buys – Flyweight and Bantamweight Champion

Bellator Title holder: Cris Cyborg – Feather weight World Champion

I also have had South African athletes compete in the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation World Championships whom won two gold and one bronze medals.

My contribution to International MMA Athletes to date
I trained the following International MMA athletes early in their MMA career while I was based in California USA:

o Pen a Pano (7-time World Brazilian ju-jitsu Champion)

I have had the first South African MMA Athlete to win his debut fight in the world’s biggest MMA promotion, the Ultimate Fighting Champion (UFC). To date I have had two of my athletes to enter and win their debut fights in the UFC.

o Don “Magic Man” Madge – his debut fight won fight of the night
o Cris Cyborg – I have recently become one of Cris Cyborg’s main coaches. Brazilian born Cris Cyborg is pound for pound the best female MMA athlete in the world fighting in the UFC, based in California USA. Cris is the former 135lbs and 145lbs UFC World Champion, she also boasts 1 million social media followers.

My contribution to South African Boxing
My first athlete in the boxing arena Boyd Allen won the WBA Pan African Champion in his first title bout March 2019.
